Systems Connect
Systems Connect is an unincorporated joint venture between CIMIC Group companies CPB Contractors and UGL Engineering. The joint venture has been contracted to design and construct the line-wide work to convert the excavated tunnel into a working railway for Sydney Metro City & Southwest.
Line wide work: Sydney Metro, City and South west
Line-wide Work includes all the permanent systems, services and building work required for the complete operations of Sydney Metro. Systems Connect has delivered metro rail track, power, communications, signalling systems and infrastructure to ensure the Metro can run smoothly in the City and south west.
Factotum provided secondment services to the Systems Connect Community and Stakeholder Engagement team.
Factotum Engagement: 2020-2024
Key Activities included:
- Led annual reviews of the Community Communication Strategy and Business Management Plan.
- Conducted consultation on five traction substations inside the rail corridor between Marrickville and Punchbowl and two bulk power supply routes at Surry Hills and Canterbury.
- Managed complaints.
- Delivered regular reporting.
- Issued monthly notifications.
- Managed respite in accordance with EPL requirements.
- Liaised with council.
- Engaged with highly diverse audiences in south west. This included translating materials, and capitalising on our multicultural team bringing them on door knocks and to community meetings.
- Worked with businesses to minimise construction impacts.
